There is still a lot of World War 2 unexploded ordnance hidden and buried in the most unlikely places on Braunton Burrows, so if you discover something metallic and unusual - please leave it well alone and tell the authorities.
Is illegal on Braunton Burrows for exactly the same reason as above. Friends of the Assault Training Center include experts in ordnance and ammunition and therefore hold the exclusive licence to use metal detectors and excavate historical sites.
First exploration since the COVID pandemic hit the country. Small group located large amount of armour plating panels and several concrete bases for scaffold poles, presumably used as marker posts.
